Twitter was a little skeptical with the news of Urban Meyer's hiring as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Meyer brings in a solid résumé during a college coaching career with Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and Ohio State that has spanned 17 non-losing seasons for a 187-32 career record, but he is joining a Jacksonville team who fared a league-worst 1-15 last season.

The team has the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft and over $100 million in salary-cap space, but critics have questioned whether Meyer would have the patience to take on a rebuilding project.

The Jaguars have had 11 losing seasons in their last 13 years.

Ohio State NCAA college football head coach Urban Meyer answers questions during a news conference announcing his retirement Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, in Columbus, Ohio.

The hire creates an interesting dilemma in the NFL draft, where Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been identified as the favored No. 1 pick, but Ohio State quarterback, Justin Fields, if he declares for the draft, might be an intriguing option for the Jaguars and Meyer, especially after Fields outplayed Lawrence in the Allstate Sugar Bowl this season.

Here is a sampling of what people are saying on Twitter about Meyer's potential hiring.
