IOWA CITY, Ia. — Mason City guard Megan Meyer has committed to play for Iowa women's basketball, she announced Thursday night via Twitter.

Megan Meyer of Mason City drives to the hoop in the class 4A Semifinal game with Keokuk Friday, March 4, 2016.

The rising junior was second among all sophomores in the state with 18.5 points per game last year, when she led Mason City to an 11-12 season. She averaged 10.1 points per game as a freshman en route to winning a Class 4A state title. Her sister, rising sophomore Hawkeye Makenzie Meyer, was a senior that year for Mason City.

Like in high school, the sisters will play one season together at Iowa in 2019-20.

Meyer, who plays for Ames-based All Iowa Attack, Iowa's premier club team, picked Iowa over Iowa State and South Dakota State. She's the Hawkeyes' first commit for the class of 2019.
