8 additional coronavirus cases confirmed in Johnson County; 5 more COVID-19 deaths, 512 cases reported statewide

Iowa reported an additional 512 confirmed coronavirus cases and five COVID-19 related deaths for the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to Coronavirus.Iowa.gov.

State officials said that since the pandemic reached Iowa, a total of 798 people have died of COVID-19 across Iowa, including 10 in Johnson County.

Statewide, a total of 423,221 people have been tested, including 20,764 in Johnson County, and 39,419 have tested positive.  

There was a total of 1,639 confirmed coronavirus cases in Johnson County on Tuesday, the state said, an increase of eight from the previous day.

Patients hospitalized in Regional Medical Coordination Center Region 5: 42 (0)

Receiving ICU care in RMCC Region 5: 21 (0)

RMCC Region 5 includes Clinton, Des Moines, Henry, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren, Wapello and Washington counties.
